Welcome to Beards for Peace

Over the course of history, men with beards have been ascribed various attributes such as wisdom, virility, masculinity, and even a higher status. Today, not much has changed, as beards can help represent more than just your identity, in many cultures around the world.

Not long ago, a vow was made, to not shave my beard, until President of Syria, Bashar Al-Assad takes heed of his peoples demands, and immediatly steps down to be tried in International Courts for crimes against humanity. For almost a year now, the people of Syria have been through an absolutley brutal government crackdown, leaving close to 10,000 dead, and over 20,000 kidnapped or missing. The Syrian Government has no mercy as it fires live rounds into unarmed peaceful protestors, or shelling whole cities indiscrimintely with rockets and missles, killing thousands of civilians. The world needs to know what the people of Syria have been going through for the past year, and if growing out by beard will help raise awarness in the slightest degree about the dire situtation, then Assad leaves before my beard does.
